Uroboros, The Giant Didgeridoo

A Giant Didgeridoo

'Uroboros' is a sound sculpture project created by Igor Ezendam between 1988 and 1993 at the Royal Art Academy of the Hague, Holland.

"One day, playing didgeridoo inside a big empty metal filing cabinet, hearing everything around me vibrate, I got happy. I was twentyone, at the art academy of The Hague in Holland. I decided I wanted to create an instrument where i could be INSIDE THE SOUND.

I went ahead and designed a prototype
of this Giant Didgeridoo, calling it "Uroboros", symbol of life, eternity and rebirth. Since then this Giant Didgeridoo has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam and the Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris, as well as at concerts in Holland and France.
