The
didjeridoo (or 'yedaki') is the ritual musical instrument
of the Australian indigenous people and said to be one
of the first wind instruments on earth.
“Balanda” is an Aboriginal word for the dutch colonial
visitors.
Igor has followed his own mixed cultural background,
discovering an original soundworld where many traditions meet.
He found his first plastic pipe on the streets of Amsterdam in 1986,
and has continued creating his own musical instruments,
among which “The Circular Horn”, a giant circular didjeridoo,
2.5 meter high, that you lie down into to play.
Igor offers the possibility to experience the sound
and the vibrations of the didgeridoo on the body.
He feels the song of a person, following patterns over the body,
helping the sound and the person back into balance.
In the courses on the healing use of the didgeridoo,
he explores the physical and emotional effects
of playing on the body, the sounds, patterns and paths,
circular breath & trance, perfecting the use of harmonics,
improvising and creating personal songs.
